Learn to Learn

Lighting a Fire

‘Learn to learn’ sounds a bit odd, no?

Many athletes train hard. BUT how many train effectively? You can work hard and be unproductive. In school, you can study hours for exams and yet some other student who studies less, studies more efficiently. In sport, you can train for hours and yet some other athlete who trains less, trains more effectively.

Football is not all about “hustle.” It is not just about logging training hours. It is about training intelligently.

If you know how to learn then you will learn more and learn more efficiently. In school, you will acquire knowledge with greater results. In sport, you will be more cognitively fit and more physically fit. When you see positive results more quickly, you will be inspired to learn more and your circle of success spirals upward.

“Being a student is easy. Learning requires actual work.” – William Crawford

In business they call this a higher return on your investment. You put in quality time and you get quality results. There is so much research on how humans learn. Unfortunately, that research rarely reaches you, the student athlete. Let’s look at just a few concepts.

Let’s learn to learn.
