Your Habits Make You
You will notice that we mention “build character.”
Why?
Because “build’ is a verb. You construct your character each day, act by act. When you act respectfully, you become a respectful person. When you are kind to others consistently, you become a kind person. Trait by trait, day by day, moment by moment.
“First you make your habits and then your habits make you.” – Jim Kwik
If you believe you cannot control yourself, then it will be easy to blame the universe for who you are. Easy to make excuses. STOP. You are who you are because you choose to be that person, to act in that way. Take charge of your best self and be that best self intentionally.
Character needs to be constructed. It needs to be built. You build character one act at a time. “Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. Start building.
